In observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday, Marion ISD will have a school holiday on Monday, January 18, 2021. MLK Day celebrates the life and achievements of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. who was an influential American civil rights leader, a Nobel Peace Prize winner and is most well-known for his campaigns for racial equality. Marion ISD supports equality for all Americans and would like to join in recognition and celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s life achievements as an American civil rights leader.

A Note From The Superintendent…
Periodically, situations arise on our campuses that call for the assistance of
outside emergency personnel. Sometimes students are held in their classrooms
for a brief amount of time to avoid onlookers and protect the privacy of the
individual(s) involved. These situations do not pose a threat to the student body
or staff, but rather an inconvenience. Parents who may be arriving to or leaving
from a campus may be asked to wait to allow the situation to be resolved before
resuming their path. Please know that if a situation evolves that poses a concern
for the safety and security of our students, we will notify parents of the event(s)
that transpired. Our students’ safety is a priority. Simultaneously, we work to
protect their privacy and preserve their dignity in their times of need.
